YMCA of Southern Indiana
SWING FOR THE FENCE
Member: $45 (3 yr olds)
Participant: $55 (3 yr olds)
AGE 3 COED
This is an introduction to the sport of baseball. We call it Wee-Ball. Kids play with tennis balls and a foam bat. Everyone plays in the field, each child bats every inning and every hit is a home run! Teams practice 20 to 30 minutes before each game.
Member: $57 (4-7 yr olds)
Participant: $70 (4-7 yr olds)
AGES 4-5 COED
Tee ball introduces kids to many of the rules of baseball. Each child still gets to play in the field every game and bat every inning. Soft tee balls will be used. Teams practice once a week for 45 minutes to an hour.
AGE 6-7 COED
This is a coach pitch division. Coaches throw under or overhand from approximately 30 feet away. No one strikes out. After five pitches a child may hit off a tee. Tee balls are used for safety and everyone gets to play in the field. Teams practice once a week for an hour.
YMCA YOUTH SPORTS PHILOSOPHY
The Y has been facilitating introductory youth sports in the Southern Indiana community for over 40 years. We are committed to teaching sound fundamental skills and to encouraging each youth to develop these skills in their individual interest and ability levels. Our desire is that, through sports, youth will find a lifelong love for healthy activity and find ways to strengthen values, improve relationships, appreciate diversity, develop leadership skills and have fun.
