| TAI-CHI (Adults only)
This course introduces the complimentary Chinese arts of Qigong and TaiChi. Qigong provides the foundation of balance and energy movement that are used in the art of TaiChi. Both arts use a series of gentle movements to open up the body's energy channels and balance the flow of bio-energy or Chi (pronounced “chee”). The movements reduce stress and have been shown to improve virtually every area of physical, mental and emotional health. A simple TaiChi routine called “Easy 8 TaiChi” developed at the Oregon Research Institute by Fuzhong Li, Ph.D. is taught. “Easy 8 TaiChi” is simpler to learn than the traditional TaiChi routines, which can be very lengthy. This allows participants to experience the benefits of TaiChi more quickly and in a less complicated format. Participants should wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes.
